Site Map and Seating Plan

Draft Seating Plan

This draft of the seating plan was used before the decision to move the stage was made. Although not fully correct, this coloured plan serves as a guide for the design of the event during development.

Final Seating Plan

This seating plan shows where seating and tables are being moved on the night. The outside furniture can be brought inside as required.

A seating plan is important for 'Live at Malt' as the event requires a rearrangement of the current bar/restaurant set up, and then additional equipment brought in to set up the staging.

8Events went to Malt Public House to visit the site, discussing the arrangement of the venue with Max Textor, from University of Auckland Comedy Club, and Shane McDonagh, the Malt Bar general manager. After the consultation, Max Textor agreed on the location of stage.

Originally, 8Events planned to set the stage in front of the 'green room' area, but as we began to plan the decoration of the venue, according to where the tables and chairs need to be positioned, it was not a good location for most guests to watch the performance, therefore, the stage was moved to in front of the bifold doors, which will stay mostly closed, leaving one door open for outdoor access.

Because it is winter, and the temperature is low at night, so this program can also make the audiences feel warm indoors. At the front of the venue (left side on the plan), there are seven tables which we are not moving or changing. The gift table on the right side of the main entrance is where the raffle prizes are to be placed. According to the number of audiences at that night, we have moved 2 tables in the left of the bar, and on the right side of the bar placed 3 chairs, the main change was that we put in the front of the stage 3 long tables and benches, in the green room also put up a long table and bench, the other on the right side of the stage also had a long table available.

If it gets too crowded inside, there is the outdoor environment which has speakers so guests can still hear the show.  In order not to let the audiences feel freezing, we also pointed the fireplace in the outside. The remaining uncovered floor space on the plan is part of the risk management, allowing access throughout the entire venue so people can get around the venue freely.
