The venue is located at 442 Richmond Road in Grey Lynn. It is a busy road in the West Lynn shops that can allow attendees to easily get there. Seeing as our target market is mainly people in the surrounding area, this means many of the patrons can easily walk to the venue or catch a short taxi.

 

Our aim for the event to be a social evening where responsible drinking is encouraged. Because of this, we would recommend the attendees to seek alternative forms of transport other than driving themselves. However, for those who wished to drive, park and not drink, there is street parking without time restrictions after 6 pm (the event doors open at 7 pm). There is also free parking on Hakanoa Street which the venue sits on the corner of. In addition, adjacent to Malt, there is a carpark suitable for around 20 extra cars which are also free of time restrictions in the evenings, available for use.

 

For those who are travelling from the city, there is the 020 bus departing from Britomart every half hour which stops at 440 Richmond Road, roughly a one minute walk from the venue. With an AT Hop card this would cost $1.85 and take around 19 minutes. The last bus is at midnight returning to Britomart. Alternatively, Uber also estimates a bus fare from Britomart to Malt to be between $16-$21.

 

As part of Malt Public House’s responsible service of alcohol policy, the staff are also there to recommend patrons different forms of transport.
